Who should go?
The Hotel Equatorial offers a wide selection of guest rooms and suites providing contemporary comforts and facilities. With ample meeting and conference rooms it is a favorite of business travelers and incentive groups, meaning that it is not recommended for those seeking intimate or charming accommodation. However its central location still makes it a good base for sightseeing.
When to go?
Although the temperature remains fairly steady throughout the year, Southern Vietnam is marked by two reasons. The dry season lasts from December to May, while from May to November is the rainy season. Most of the rain is in the afternoon and only lasts a short time so it is unlikely to disrupt touring plans. The Chinese new year of Tet is celebrated throughout Vietnam in late January or early February. During this time, transport options fill up quickly and lots of restaurants and tourist sites are closed so it is not recommended to travel to Vietnam then.
Where is it?
Hotel Equatorial is located in District 5 of Ho Chi Minh City, on the border with District 1- the city’s main commercial and shopping district. Sites such as Cholon, the Reunification Palace, and the Saigon River are also nearby and the International Airport is 20 minutes away.
What's not to be missed?
Dining on fresh seafood at Orientica. A dip in the cool waters of the Hotel’s pool. Afternoon tea at Chit Chat Corner. Massage treatment. Trying your luck at the OV Club’s slot machines. Enjoying the sites and sounds of vibrant Ho Chi Minh City.
Voted one of Vietnam’s Top 100 Restaurants by ‘Gourmet Vietnam’ Magazine, Hotel Equatorial’s Orientaca Seafood Restaurant & Bar is a contemporary venue serving delicious cuisine. Seafood is the highlight of the menu, imported daily from Vietnam’s coastline and prepared in a variety of ways to suit the diner’s wishes. The restaurant also has gourmet non-seafood dishes, such as lamb and pasta, and one of the city’s only teppanyaki bar. Chit Chat at the Café is known for its culinary spreads that are served three times a day. Diners can opt for buffet or a la carte meals with international and local cuisines of the highest standards. Or for a drink, relax poolside at the bar or indoors at the casual Chit Chat Corner.
