Welcoming guests in style, Mercure Vientiane seamlessly combines elegance and a warm welcome in the heart of Vientiane. While echoing the international standards that the Mercure brand is known for, the Vientiane property pays tribute to its location by offering famed Lao hospitality and a classy charm reminiscent of the French-colonial era.
Superbly designed, each classically-adorned room fuses traditional Lao furnishings with modern amenities. The white bed linens are contrasted by splashes of darker colored curtains, silk pillows and wooden furnishings and the tiled bathrooms feature spacious bathtubs.
The 201 rooms at Mercure Vientiane fall into three categories. The standard rooms are spacious enough for two adults and a child while the superior rooms boast a larger work area, ideal for those on a business trip. The seven well-designed suites include a separate lounge with half-bathroom offering ample room for relaxing.
Mercure Vientiane houses numerous facilities highlighted by their garden-fringed pool, fitness center and tennis court. For business travelers, an exclusive executive floor provides a quiet, well-equipped business center and downstairs, meeting rooms are available with a capacity of 220.
Guests can start their day at Restaurant Le Café’s extensive breakfast buffet where a tempting choice of Eastern and Western dishes are prepared. The casual, stylish setting is open throughout the day or guests can enjoy in-room dining at any time with 24-hour room service.

Who should go?
Our advice: containing spacious rooms and conveniently located near the city center, Mercure Vientiane is the perfect stay for family and business travelers. The hotel’s numerous on-site facilities and the international-standard rooms and service will satisfy most discerning guests however the somewhat staid atmosphere of the large hotel may not appeal to those seeking the charm of a boutique property.
When to go?
The best time to visit the capital city is from November to February. The weather is much drier and is also noticeably cooler. However, the city experiences its high tourist season making bookings difficult and expensive. Vientiane’s rainy season lasts from May to September, with August having the most rainfall in the year. The rains are usually heavy but come in short bursts. This time of year also sees the city with the least amount of tourists, so bookings will be easier.
